Heavy duty mechanical densification presses, also called briquetters, briquetting presses, briquetting machines, work by combining very high pressures with high temperature to reconstitute the natural bonding of the biomass or of the material being densified. Small portions of the loose material is dynamically compacted under very high pressures by a high speed ram, all the energy used in the process turns into heat, raising the temperature of the process. The method reaches pressures as high as 2500 bar (36000 psi) and temperatures of 180°C (350°F). Different materials behave differently, yet the densified finished product may reach densities as high as 1360 kg/m3 (85 lbs/cu.ft). Normal volume reduction ratios are 9:1 to 10:1. With foams and extremely low density materials the volume reduction can reach values above 30:1.
Our DI PIÙ heavy duty BRIK mechanical presses are designed to withstand the severity of the process, and are manufactured by high precision machining and quality controlled assembly. Our mechanical presses work 24/7 with very little maintenance and low consumption, year after year.
