We specialize in high pressure densification equipment, also called briquetting equipment, a technology that drastically reduces the volume of solid yet loose materials into solid logs or pucks without the addition of binders. Materials can range from wood, other biomasses, metals, rigid foams, and metal sludge.
Depending on the material, densification can reduce the space these materials occupy; reduce the cost of storing, transporting, or disposing of them; recover costly materials and fluids, and can turn a zero-value material into a valuable new product. Additionally, the environmental impact of working with industrial materials can be minimized.
- Biomass, Wood & Non-Wood → renewable fuels that contribute to the replacement of fossil fuels in our energy demanding life.
- Non-biomass → reduced in volume, stabilized, disposed at a lower cost, or transformed into new products.
- Metals → recovery of grinding and machining fluids; metals can be reused and become new usable alloys.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is briquetting?
It is the reduction of volume of a solid yet loose material under extremely high pressures (a.k.a. densification). Briquetting is done by means of compression, not by means of extrusion, and achieves higher densities than extrusion methods. Depending on the material, volumes can be reduced 7 to 30 times.
How can this benefit my company?
By transforming a waste into a more valuable and/or saleable product. By improving the energy density of a biomass fuel, e.g. wood. By reducing storage and/or transport costs. By reducing disposal cost. By recovering costly fluids and valuable metals.
Is briquetting right for my company?
Sunomi LLC offers solutions for small projects and for very large ones. We will be happy to analyze your data and your needs, and let you know if one of our possible solutions can be a valuable proposal to your company.
Briquetting reduces the cost of storing, transporting, or disposing of waste materials, and increases the value by opening new market avenues.
VARIETY OF OPTIONS
We offers solutions for both small projects and very large ones. From briquetting woods for fuel logs to densifying and storing non-recyclable materials.
